Is Facebook on its way out as a top player in social media?

Case in point: the EERIE SIMILARITIES between Mark Zuckerberg's MULTIBILLION BET on Metaverse and Yahoo CEO Melissa Mayers' failed multibillion dollar efforts at buying up smaller apps and companies to turn Yahoo around

I do think that it's dying a slow and painful death. Maybe not as big of a fall as Yahoo, but a much bigger company relatively speaking.

Perhaps it is on it's way out, I would like to see internal user engagement numbers over the past year to really see what's happening there though. The shift to Meta seemed too early in my opinion and really generated little to no hype. As a matter of fact the only thing I really noticed was that Oculus was bought by Meta. Is it too early toright Facebook off, I believe so, but I also don't believe it ends up as irrelevant as yahoo simply because it fills certain needs nothing else can or will at this juncture in time. People use it more and more as a selling platform which integrates very nicely with niche user interest groups as well as facilitationg local interactions and transactions from people who would otherwise probably hardly ever be online. They had better reinvigorate the platform or make some moves though, people don't stick around breathing stale air for long.
