Okay so a month ago I purchased a phone charger from Amazon for the misses. It arrived this morning ( took almost a month to arrive haha. )

So I got home from work tonight and the misses comes back home too, and her phone is running low on battery so she goes to use the new charger that arrived today.

    AND....

Look what happened after about 10 seconds of it being plugged in.

First of all, are you sure you bought stuff from Japan? Japanese stuff is usually awesome in quality. You probably just bought cheap chinese stuff.
Secondly, are you sure you used the right plug type for your plug type? I mean, some of them even if they fit are just different. They are either for different voltage, or they have/don't have grounding (or whatever it is called). If all of those are legit, then maybe there was small change in the current for a second, for whatever reason (thunderstorm or something), and thats what caused this damage. Anyway, you should contact the seller. Good luck.

I have never had issues with stuff from Japan. You probably bought a counterfeit.
