Im pretty sure he redeemed a coupon with poweruprewards and just gave us the code where the barcode is.

This isn't a giftcard or anything like that. It is a physical coupon that you need to walk into the store with. Im pretty sure no employee would take some numbers, so this is useless without the picture of the coupon (As far as I know).

This wont work online and isn't something you plug in anywhere :/

You can redeem for lootcrate codes and coupons to thinkgeek.com (Via the Gamestop App)
But coupons and physical merchandise are useless to you.
But shipping will probably be expensive...
