It may be smart to create an subforum board called "Old announcements" within "Rules and Announcements" which will contain only active and fresh announcements. I mean, who is going to read merry christmas thread ? LoL
Inactive and old announcements just make browsing the active ones more complicated.
And also, this suggestion is more than easy to implement ;)
