Does the cracking tutorials from wayback 2015 still works to this day? and what os do crackers use

hey guys im a noob when it comes to cracking so i want to know if cracking softwares from 2015 or even 2020 still works to this day because ive been seing alot of tutorials but they are using from way back and also the softwares were old plus do i need to use windows 7 to crack or older versions of windows 10? thank you for answering in advance
