Part one: Childhood
i still remember my immpression when i saw the christmas of 1986 and my old brother open a box with something special xD Atari 800XL, wow i was amazed of the power to have in home such a great machine... fiuuuuuuuu wow, was great i only had 7 years, but i was amazed with those games and graphics. We had that atari 800XL for long time.
Time pass and i've try several times to duplicate those cassette tapes, i dont know why, never could did it, the sound on the loads was the same but, nothing happens that time.
After that i knew the NES, thanks to a Friends that came from USA and they get the NINTENDO Entertainment System (nes), was the first time i saw something like "Rambo" in action, with those great graphics, "Contra" was the name of that incredible game, i get again amazed with the power of that console, after that i get to my home and start playing "Draconus" on my atari, was a damn game like monctesuma, but better for me, was much darker and had really good midi music, like heavy metal., But the games were not the same again, i had to get that Nintendo... passed a few years and finally i get one.
Snes Ages, was my former time to the side of piracy.
in that years, only you could rent cartridges and the piracy was something only the Chinese could do, so i didn't had the knowledge neither the tools, so i invented a way to get all the games i wanted at that time, was just a thought, but... i also did it xD
The Plan: cosisted in collect old games cartridge , like super mario world with my Friends, and also i bought a lot of super mario world games at lower costs. The idea basically was to get a lot of cartridges and be partner of a lot of video clubs, on those years here in my country they had a lot of games for SNES in rent, so the idea was to rent games, various games at once, and the best game of the lot, it would be mine thanks to my plan.
The Execution consisted on introducing the old game cartridge (super mario) to the microwave oven for 10 seconds until you smell the burnt plastic.
After that In a pot of boiling water, with a lot of steam and with careful not to burn, I set the game for a few minutes on the steam until the adhesive was wet and very carefully could be removed. Being very careful not to break it. after that i repeat the procedure with the game i want to be mine.
The last part was to put the adhesive on the damaged cartridge, must be with a lot of care to let the cartridge like new with the adhesive of the game was rented.
if you ask, did work? yes a lot of time in different shops, but eventually the owners, They started to look at me with eyes of doubt, and with time they started closing me the access to their stores.
They never had the convincent fact to say me nothing, the cartridge of the games were the same they gave me for rent, they never checked if the game was ok when i've rented and never tested on the deliver of the games. Anyway they asume that there was something strange and prefer to close me the Access xD. and that was how i could get a lot of games when i was kid.
Well those were my first adventures in the piracy and black side of the law practice i did when i was kid... just a funny momment in time.
Years after that i did a lot of other things, somtimes with a lot of money, other times not, but good stories.
