I seem to glimmer that this is primarily a video game site, but it seems pretty hard to come by a cracking forum that won't impose strict limits on posting unless joining premium. So! with that out of the way, i wanna ask anyone and everyone if you could help me with a slight problem im dealing with.
You see Im trying to fully crack a program called "folder lock" (amazing encryption, i totally recommend it), but the designers were pretty smart to keep their product safe. There's plenty of sites offering a crack (or keygen to be more specific), however, they didn't go all they way to finish the job; the readme file tells you to put these lines:
127.0.0.1
127.0.0.1
In the "hosts" files (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc), in order to block internet connection. The catch is that, folder lock is programmed to eliminate the first line from the hosts file so it can regain access to internet and verify the product key, the keygen generates, which results on the program reseting back to non-registered status. I decided, then, to make the hosts file "read-only" so folder lock wont modify it and it worked, but if the program is unable to access the internet, it'll then fire up another fail-safe, giving you a pop-up window that tells you that the program is cracked and will terminate the application as soon as you press OK, I wish to eliminate that check.
Im not exactly asking you people to solve this issue for me, but, since I used to make some pretty simple cracks myself (though a long time ago and lost pretty much all my hacker tools), can anyone please, help me or give me a rundown on how to relearn the fine art of cracking? (by using the folder lock dilemma).
