How do I get started with dorks?

Hello there, new guy to cracking, blah blah blah, my issue is that I can't seem to get my dorks to work. I generated some with TSP Dork Gen 8.0, but when I put them in "Dork Searcher EZ" it just errors infinitely. The tutorial I'm using told me to use MyWebSearch, tried it on that and google to no avail.
