Socks Proxy Question

If I were to go about cracking Minecraft accounts, do I absolutely need socks since the website is https? I have a Sentry MBA config that I ran a list of premium accounts through proxyless and got hits on all of them, but when I run the same list with some L1 + L2 proxies that I tested against minecraft.net and it didn't work.

never check proxyless if you using your machine or vmware .be safe and beyond that i guess its something wrong with your socks
