Graphic designers! I know it's good to have high-quality materials for the sake of the element's crispness. But higher quality files will come with a high file size which in return, is a bad thing for us. If you are working on a mobile application, file sizes really do matter. The same thing for Web Design - bigger file sizes means slower pages.
Q: Why not just use SVG?
A: SVGs are awesome. Use them as you can but there is a reason that it cannot dominate the world yet; It's harder to process than PNGs.
Q: How 'bout teh chrsipnes?
A: Theoretically, crispness and the quality of images reduce after compression. However, we can still do compression without noticing huge quality reduction this is possible because, in some instances, excess data exist that are barely visible when zoomed out. (Keep in mind the fact that compression reduces the image data. This is not NCIS.)
The icons were created by me
The image above shows how the compression affects our images. We also see the difference between the original and compressed image. Try to look at the size of that PS icon - It's about one-fifth the size of the original!
I used a site called " ".
It's so easy - You visit the page, click "Drop your files here", Then you can upload up to 20 files! Well, it's not an offline thing.
I am not affiliated with the creator or anyone involved on this site. I just thought that it's nice. Thanks for reading! Have a nice day!
