should i update? ive gotten used to windows 7

I would make the move over to Win 10, but I'd make sure to get Enterprise or Education editions. Standard windows kinda sucks and limits you if you're a power-user, and at least on Education edition there's no Cortana,

plus you get Hyper-V support for things like Docker (assuming you don't run Docker in a linux vm), plus better Local Group Policy accessibility. The one downside is Core and Security updates tend to happen when I'm afk and they may close programs but generally I've never lost progress on anything I've been working on, and updates can be switched off by setting your network adapter to be limited or metered. And so far I've never had issues with updates except once where once a day my mouse would stutter, which was fixed maybe three days later.
